THIS IS US.

Hailing from the northwest of England, the Gekko are a 5 piece rock band.

The band officially formed in 1997 with brothers Mark and Andy Rawlinson teaming up with the drum king Andy Heap, going on to release their debut EP ‘Discharged’ in 2000.

Craig Benyon, Adam Stewart and Tom McCooey joined in 2005, releasing their second EP, ‘That was then....This is now!’

In 2006, their track ‘Dice Man’ won them a prized support slot at the Manchester City FC stadium, supporting Bon Jovi and Nickleback. Later that year, they released their debut album, ‘A Darker Place’, and toured throughout England.

‘Testify’ was released next, containing 4 tracks, including the lengthy ‘Paper Hearts’, the fade out for which is rumoured to never actually finish…

‘The Unholy Trinity’ was the next collection of you guessed it, 3 tracks. ‘Beastfist’ displayed the rhythmic energy and melodic vocals symbolic of previous releases, but ‘Black Eye’ and ‘Ozymandias’ showcased a heavier edge to the band.

The latest EP released was ‘The Will’, containing the anthems ‘Circles’ and ‘Speak to Me’, produced at Steel City Studios in Sheffield with the legendary Phil Gornell.

The Gekko are currently planning to perform a one-off gig in Liverpool on July 12th. We’d love to see you there. For now, enjoy the music on Spotify
